Jane Mayer’s New Revelations About Fox News and Trump

Yesterday, The New Yorker posted a new, detailed report by Jane Mayer on unprofessional connections between the White House and Fox News.  It also appears in print in the March 11, 2019 issue. If you haven’t already maxed out your free online New Yorker items this month, you should be able to read Ms. Mayer’s article without hitting a paywall. Note: In San Francisco — and maybe other parts of the country — newsstand print copies of The New Yorker are running late.  Even if you’re willing to buy an expensive magazine in order to read one article, you may have to wait if … Continue reading Jane Mayer’s New Revelations About Fox News and Trump

The Donald’s Ghostwriter Speaks up

In case you missed Jane Mayer’s fine article about Trump ghostwriter Tony Schwartz in The July 25 issue of The New Yorker, a link appears below. Cloak And Dagger Campaigning

In case you haven’t opened the May 30, 2016 issue of The New Yorker yet, please look for an excellent article by Jane Mayer titled Sting Of Myself. We’ve read about political traps and propaganda, overseen by groups that don’t have to disclose what they’re up to.  Ms. Mayer’s article (about four and a half print pages long) describes how these dirty tricks work, and how some of them don’t work.  When a scheme doesn’t work, it can resemble someone slipping on a banana peel. The article is available online, with no pay wall.  Here’s the link: http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/05/30/james-okeefe-accidentally-stings-himself Continue reading Cloak And Dagger Campaigning

Jane Mayer’s Excellent New Yorker Report On The Koch Brothers

At the end of this post, there’s a link to Jane Mayer’s investigative piece in the Jan. 25, 2016 issue of The New Yorker. If you’ve heard about Charles and David Koch’s supposedly progressive efforts to promote a kinder criminal justice system and wondered what they were really up to, Ms. Mayer has the details. http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/01/25/new-koch UPDATE:  This is so embarrassing.  Just now I learned that Jane Mayer has a new book on the topic, titled Dark Money: The Hidden History Of The Billionaires Behind The Rise Of The Radical Right. Major oopsie on my part.  Major oopsie.  The book should have … Continue reading Jane Mayer’s Excellent New Yorker Report On The Koch Brothers
