Excellent Edward R. Murrow Documentary

If you’d like to see a balanced overview of the life of a first rate journalist, I recommend the 1997 documentary Edward R. Murrow: Voice Of America. This fifty minute long piece was produced as an installment for the Biography television series, now available on DVD. How Edward R. Murrow, Joseph N. Welch And Others Saved This Country

Earlier this week I watched an excellent “docudrama,” Good Night And Good Luck (2005 release, now available on DVD).  I recommend it, especially if you are unfamiliar with Wisconsin Senator Joe McCarthy’s red baiting during the 1950s. If you’ve missed this part of Twentieth Century history completely, you can google the topic before watching the movie.  Take a look at the online bios of Joseph McCarthy, Roy Cohn, Edward R.
