Don’t Startle Me

It’s amazing how people will say “Don’t do that,” after they’ve scared the stuffing out of me and I’ve screamed.  They think I don’t respect their poor nerves.

I identify with a charming and heroic BBC character, Margaret.  She was portrayed by Catherine Tate in a past comedy series, and I hope Margaret is still around.  I’ve seen her only on YouTube.

On behalf of high-strung individuals everywhere, I officially shout, “Oh, go (expletive) yourself!” to people who slam doors, drop heavy boxes instead of placing them gently on the floor, leave sound devices at the full-blast volume when they turn off the music (you know what happens later, don’t you?) and cause my cell phone to ring.

Give ’em hell, Margaret.
